Just watched E4 - very John Wells (ER style) lots of ' For God and America' stuff!! Superb acting from John Spencer - very powerful scene at the end made the episode - great music and also a nice touch that Ellie was the daughter to stand by 'pops' in his hour of need. Keep them comin!

Fantastic stuff tonight. I was worried because of all the bad I've read about post-Aaron West Wing, but I found it as, if not more exciting than any previous episodes. Obviously the proof will come when they come out of the present crisis, but tonight's episode was superb.
The best thing for me was the change in the presentation style. Even the "previously on..." bit was gripping! It's all so fastand the pace was there throughout the episode. I also liked seeing a more fragile side to the First Lady, and the final bit with the mass and the tributes was so incredibly moving. I hadn't felt like that since Two Cathedrals.
Like the cast have said, the characters have had to change because of this situation, whether on purpose or just because we've lost Sorkin and Schlamme. At the moment I'm confident in the future of the series.
Hi to everyone btw, this was my first post!

Have started another thread on this but I forgot to mention the mass in it, that was truly a beautiful moment. I love their religious symbolism.
(The song is Sanvean by Dead Can Dance, for those who care.)
