I know we've still quite a bit of season 3 to go - although it will take till about 2007 to see all of it at the rate channel 4 are going, but i was wondering when season 4 wings its way over here.
Any ideas?
I'm sure i read somewhere that it's gonna be shown on e4 first, presumably that means channel 4 have the rights for it? I wouldn't mind if it was on e4 coz i've got a good friend with satellite, and shes said i can watch it every week there coz i don't have e4. Phew!

My prediction is that as long as Channel 4 show an episode of series 3 every week from now on series 4 will begin on E4 the first week in August.

Actually, to correct you , s2 finished on the Sunday and s3 started on the Thursday @ 9 pm. And for the first three weeks they were double bills. So in the space of 14 days (which is what it was when you do the math) E4 showed 6 episodes. Probably so they could fit the whole series in before Christmas (thank God because I went away at x-mas and couldn't exactly just take the cable box and tv with me). I wonder if they'll do that again with s4, if they show it at all. The opener "20 Hours In America", to me, is one two-hour episode. And a damn fine one at that

Oh, well i knew it was close. But I have some good news from reuters in an article dated may 16, in the US The West Wing ratings have been rising!!
'Meanwhile, NBC saw "The West Wing" (13.8 million, 4.7/11 in adults 18-49) deliver its highest demo rating since January'
This is great cos maybe channel 4 will see it and it will convince them to show further series at earlier times. What dya think?

The West Wing used to be a Top 10 show over in the States week after week after week. I think that every show will lose viewers when they've been running for a while.
The real shame, although the ratings have risen, is what they did to get the viewers interested. Matthew Perry's guest slot probably brought along a few 'Friends' fanatics just to see him. And all the other things that you can read about in The Roosevelt Room (the spoilers threads have been moved there).

I phoned channel 4 (I think the champagne has gone to my head ) and asked when series 4 was going to be shown on E4 and they said sometime later in the summer it was not yet scheduled. I would assume this means they don't know when they will finish showing series 3 on channel 4 (bad news) because I can do the maths! The lady I spoke to seem really pissed off, perhaps channel 4 have started to realise that there are WW fans out there and we will not loss without a fight

Well I heard that in 'satellite tv magazine' it's scheduled for July on e4.

You can still assume it'll start when S3 finishes and that's at least seven weeks away (if uninterrupted for the rest of the season). So yeah, end of July/start of August.

Yeah i read in a Sky magazine that season 4 started in july. They could only be messing with me though. At the rate Channel 4 is going the US will be on season 5 before we get to see season 4. outrageous.

Maybe they made up that scheduling before they bumped tww from channel 4 so many times. Can't wait when ever it starts. It's supposed to be even better than s3. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

There is a post on the C4 forum saying that the new sky magazine says 24 July at 9pm I've now seen this magazine with my very eyes and can confirm what it says. In fact, it reads as: Thursday 24 (July) The West Wing 9 PM, E4 NEW: A welcome new series begins with President Bartlet (Martin Sheen) under pressure after his First Lady (Stockard Channing) says she's 'just a wife and a mother' and the opposition takes advantage. Make the most of Rob Lowe who's leaving before the season ends. Now, anybody who has seen season four already will know that Bartlet couldn't give a flying squirrel about what Abbey said, and is more concerned with the political assassination of last season, finding a new secretary and his campaign. Doesn't mention whether or not it's gonna be double bills, like it was for the first three weeks of season three. 20 Hours in America should, in my opinion, be shown as one episode. This one in particular is too good to be split into two.

Shown on ITV1 yesterday evening, a new advert from SKY runs through the highlights of what's on digital television during July. The West Wing features in this advert, for the New Series on E4. Obviously, any schedule can change at the last minute, but I'm confident enough to pen July 24 into my head as being when the next series starts.
Let the countdown begin....
