I would make this a poll but there are only 8 options in the poll. What do you all think of the top 10 sitcoms ever as voted for by BBC viewers? Is it a fair enough selection? Are there any glaring omissions? Any that you are amazed to see in the top 10? And what would you vote for?
Here are the top 10 in alphabetical order:
Blackadder Dad's Army Fawlty Towers The Good Life One Foot In The Grave Only Fools and Horses Open All Hours Porridge The Vicar of Dibley Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister
Personally I have no qualms with nine out of ten of them; even though I don't especially like (for instance) Dad's Army I can understand why it's there. But someone really needs to explain to me how on this earth The Vicar of Dibley got into the top 10 sitcoms EVER MADE!! When you look at that list and at some of those which didn't get in, it just looks wrong. Also, it's ever so slightly fishy that they're all BBC progs and the one that finished 11th was a Channel 4 show (Father Ted, which is so much funnier than Dibley it's untrue).
Anyway, for my money it always has been Fawlty Towers, with Only Fools and Horses and Blackadder close behind.

I would vote for 9/10 too, however I think the Vicar of Dibley is far better than most of them, apart from Fawlty Towers of course.
I havent seen 'yes minister' but Ive heard its pretty good so I understand why thats in there too
