Having problems on the C4 forum, so thought I'd come here to express my utter sadness that Aaron & Thomas are leaving. They announced it apparently on May 1st. It won't be the same without them. I'm devastated!!!

channel 4 sucks. Especially their west wing mini-site, which hasn't changed since season 2 if you ever needed a measurement of their suckiness. Concerning Aaron, I wonder if he'll still be writing for TWW because I've read he'll be stepping down as exec. prod. and nothing else.

Apparently he is leaving both as writer and Exec Producer. However he is still under contract to the WB so we may get another AS series ;D
Now all I need is for Joss Whedon to create a new series and I'll be over the moon.

There's a little piece on this in TIME magazine (the one with The Matrix on the cover - yeah, Matrix is cool but, TIME magazine!?!)
Along with the indicted, charged, barred and dead, we have:
Resigning. Aaron Sorkin, 41, the creator and executive producer of NBC's Emmy winning series The West Wing and the obsessive, critically beloved writer of all but one of the show's 88 episodes; along with longtime director and executive producer Thomas Schlamme; after the fourth season, during which ratings dropped precipitously.

What was the one episode that AS didn't have a hand in writing?
And the Time/matrix thing could be explained by the fact the Warner Brothers makes the Matrix films. But apparently Time gives away the ending of Reloaded.

What was the one episode that AS didn't have a hand in writing? And the Time/matrix thing could be explained by the fact the Warner Brothers makes the Matrix films. But apparently Time gives away the ending of Reloaded. That's true. AOL Time Warner is something of a subversive group who appear to own everything (nearly) when you look at the small print. AS didn't write the episode "The Long Goodbye", which is no. 13 in season 4. That episode was written by some playwrite, first name Jon, I forget the rest. It's the episode where CJ goes back home for a school reunion and this episode follows her there. Reason being this is a time-filler. Instead of knocking up a documentary special or something to bridge the gap in the schedules, they made a special episode. Season four has the standard 22 AS written episodes, plus this one, so all in all S4 has 23 episodes in total.
