From TVGuide.com:
On the administration's agenda: a foreign-aid bill. However, Senate Republicans---and some Democrats---have other ideas. And it's up to Josh to get the vote to come out right. So he sends Donna in search of one freshman senator who doesn't seem to want to be found. Then there's the fence-sitter who'll vote the administration's way if it will agree to fund a medical study on the efficacy of prayer. Meanwhile, Danny Concannon (Timothy Busfield) is getting closer to the truth in the Sharif affair; and Charlie wants to help a female soldier whose family needs food stamps.
From NBC:
The staff comes together to fight a losing battle on a foreign aid vote in the Senate.
Heifers hoofin' it in ‘Wing' fling
I can't imagine there are many publicity opportunities when you're representing cows - but Heifer International is milking its one shot at glory for all its worth.
Under the announcement, "West Wing Features Heifer International," the group has issued a press release proudly citing the fact that, in tomorrow's episode of "The West Wing" (9 p.m./Ch. 4), entitled "Guns Not Butter," their group is given prominent mention by President Bartlet (Martin Sheen).
In the episode, the president's staff fights a losing battle on a foreign aid vote. "Little Rock's Heifer International gets a prominent mention on the popular series when President Bartlet is asked to pose for a photo with a cow or goat to help publicize the nonprofit world hunger organization," the group notes with pride.
"It's very 'Watergatey,' " [Timothy] Busfield told Distractions from New Jersey, where "Ed" is taped. "I've got this story that I think will become the big story as the season snowballs ... but I haven't told the guys on 'Ed' yet."
