Horror buff Rob Lowe loses NBC `Lyon's Den,' but thrilled to do Stephen King's ` `Salem's Lot'

Rob Lowe may be out of The Lyon's Den. That doesn't mean his acting life is getting easier.
At a press conference for the movie, he conceded that The Lyon's Den, the new NBC drama in which he starred, is done -- even though NBC has not yet officially canceled it.
The drama was supposed to be Lowe's step to center stage after several years in the ensemble of The West Wing. But it had trouble finding an audience and, according to Lowe, the right creative direction.
