Heh, we've been asking that for a while. So far insanity is all we've come up with.

Madness and genius have often been said to be linked. The truth here is that whilst it would seem madness to us TWW fans, it is actually genius on the part of C4 - they just have a different perspective.
We all know that C4 did not want to continue with TWW on terrestrial, and that they used the show to get people to get digital TV to promote E4. At the same time, the hardcore TWW fans without digital TV clamour for season 4 to be shown on terrestrial. C4 knew from ratings figures for Season 3 (shown at very odd times) were quite low, part of the reason for wanting to drop TWW in the first place. So how could they get ratings even lower to bump the show either altogether, or to the graveyard slot?
Simple. Wait until TWW fans without digital get the opportunity to buy the DVD, then put the show on at a slot which has historically attracted fewer than 1m viewers. All of a sudden you get a show that virtually nobody watches. Now they can do what they want with it, and nobody will complain (unless you have no digital TV or a DVD player of course - not many of them about).
As I said - genius, not madness. It all depends on your point of view.

Pretty much on a par with what they were looking to get then, I would say.
Give it another month and it will be moved to something like 11.40pm on a Monday evening. A month of that and then it is after midnight on a Wednesday.
I was never cynical before C4 / E4 started showing The West Wing. Maybe I should sue...

I much prefer to purchase the DVD box sets and watch the entire Season at my leisure. (This has often led to many an all nighter due to my inability to watch part of a disk!).
I also hate (with a passion) advert breaks and so my enjoyment of each episode would be drastically reduced.
I say let Channel 4 & E4 do what they like with the slots, as long as Aaron keeps producing the goods and WB keep the UK DVD market alive I'm a happy camper.
Anyone know of plans to release S5 on DVD here?

S5 is due out middle of next year.
It is not Aaron Sorkin, but John Wells, who produces the new season (and Season 6 when that comes out).
Different, but still very good, and far better than anything else on TV
