I'm guessing the reason that the box set release was put back was because according to the TV section of this weeks Heat magazine series 4 will start on Friday 17th September at 7:35pm!!!
Has anyone else heard anything about this? Should I be getting excited yet?!

Yes it's definitely starting Friday 17th. At an odd time though. Not sure if it will do very well in such an early spot, especially since it's up against housewives' favourite Coronation St. Another fine example of how channel 4 mistreats fine American drama.
At least they're showing so we shouldn't complain.

It seems to me that they are putting on at that timeslot to truly kill the show off, it's up against some of the highest rated shows I'm glad that they are finally going to show it but hope that this timeslot doesn't mean that they can use the crap ratings, which they knew would happen, as an excuse not to show S5.

Are the people who watch Corrie & Eastenders really the same people who watch the West Wing. Also it might pick up a few viewers that may stay tuned after the Channel 4 news. The type of viewer that is probably different anyway as they are watching news at 7 rather than Emmerdale and whatever is on BBC1. Prehaps this is what C4 are hoping for?

Which still leaves the "ten days before the DVD is out" question...!

From what I can gather, the contract to show TWW specifies that C4 has to broadcast it on digital and terrestrial TV. This is just a way for C4 to honour the contract and have something to blame poor ratings on. I'm just glad they decided not to show it at stupid o clock in the morning.

It's definately a rubbish time but I think that channel 4 are trying to extend their hold on Friday evenings as they did build up that 7:30 slot quite a bit with showing Queer eye for a straight guy over the last few months. I know it isn't exactly the same as WW but it got that slot recognised
