I thought last nights episode was excellent. POTUS buying the DVD player for Charlie was so nice.
Didn't think POTUS would be so keen to keep Hoynes on. Personally i think they could do without him. Leo is better as CoS but Fitz would make a good VPOTUS.

I liked the episode, but I have yet another drink related problem with AS.
Discussing James Bond:
Except James Bond drinks Vodka Martini (currently made using Stolly, if memory serves correct) so it wouldn't leave you with cold water, a dash of gin and dry vermouth.

Ah, My favourite scene(s) had to be Bartlet being magical towards Charlie and Donna, bless her soul. The 4 words he wrote brought tears to my eyes. Toby and Sam and Josh didnt make such of an impact on me this episode but I am glad we didnt actually have to see Bruno or Doug.

hoynes has actually gone (marginally) up in my estimation after this episode. liked the whole four little words thing too.
but you are right what made the ep was the lovely gestures that bartlet made. the phonecall especially brought a tear to my eye!

Hey, first off it's a Canadian sport, not American. they just hijacked it when Wayne Gretzky appeared on the scene.
And you don't hit each other with sticks. Well not while the umpire's watching anyway. Then you get two minutes in the sin bin and you feel shame.

I'm in a summer mood. Can you believe it was 27 degrees in Ayrshire today ? It'll be back to the usual -5 tomorrow.
Hockey's not that violent, at least if you keep your head up !

shock to the system isnt it? i am resembling a lobster, us ayrshire folk arent built to deal with these conditions!
did you have to arrest lots of drunken topless old men? it makes me laugh how as soon as there is a hint of sun everyone heads to the parks with as much beer as they can carry. have also spotted a few charming rab c alikes in string vests with a tied hankie on their heads.

I agree with Josh Lyman - there is no such thing as a Vodka Martini in the US, when the talk for a martini they mean a martini cocktail which to us is a Vodka Martini. Very confusing for us British. The Americans also seem more interesting in how many olives they are going to get (sad lot).

ok I always get Vodka (yes it does have to be Stolly) with a 1/4 shot of gin and a dry vermouth as a mixer with a Vodka Martini, it should then be shaken and poured over the back of a metal spoon into a cocktail glass with ice already in it and definatley not stirred. I spent two years as a cocktail barman (Very Tom Cruise you know) and this was always the way i was shown how to make one in Cocktail school. It is a killer drink but not altogether English (Invented in the Benelux countries some time ago). But in terms of the episode - very good, i liked the way POTUS and Leo were asking Charlie for his cash and the whole Rebate/Advance thing very amusing, a light hearted episode but i'm sure the heavy stuff is to come ( i know it does i've seen some of the later episodes)
