If we want the west wing to continue with most of the regular characters one of them need to become President after Bartlet's second term, which one would you choose and why....
I'd pick Josh, he is an idealist but he would take this presidents job serious and this might bring out the best in him.
Leo would be my second choice - just because of his experience

I voted leo again because of the experience and cos he can be serious. Josh would be my second choice cos he is just great and it would mean Donna could have a really important job. Although what would happen to Charlie?

Charlie could stay - he would just be Josh's body man, it was afterall Josh would hired him (and match him up with Zoe). And Donna would be Mrs Landingham - but saying that I can't imagine Donna calling Josh anything else apart from Josh

I'm going to vote for Fitz. Not entirely sure why though, just seems like a good progression. Plus if you look back at US Presidents, "Doves" tend to be followed by "Hawks" (eg Kennedy then Johnson). I like to think of Bartlet as a Dove, and there aren't any other Hawks in his administration.

I'd like to vote for Leo as he is clearly the most qualified. However as Bartlet said in 'Bartlet For America' (when under the misapprehension that Leo was intending to run) "They're going to bring up alcohol and Valium..."
They'd bring it up again a hundredfold, even though he's already been through it as Chief of Staff.

I think Leo would be a good President. Don't like hoynes and Toby is a bit grumpy (although i love his character). Think Sam and Josh should be President one day but they are a bit young just now. if Leo took over they could all work for him and the West Wing could continue for another 8 years.

They'd also bring up his divorce. I don't remember the last unmarried/divorced US President. It's how politics works. It was OK for JFK to (allegedly) get his way with anyone as long as the Camelot ideal - including marriage - was presented to the world.
Leo is a brilliant politician and a supremely qualified individual. He is also a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, and a divorcee. Therefore, he wouldn't have a cat in hell's chance of being elected.

He has a chance, anyway he might get remarried to someone like Jordan.

He'd have to!
And I'd still be sceptical, particularly as it's within 6 years of the whole MS issue.
It would be, to say the least, a rough ride which the party may not want to put themselves through.

I've gone for josh.
I reckon he'd be really really good!
And Leo should stay chief of staff, and Donna can be the new Mrs Landingham, and Toby can do Josh's old job, and Ainsley can be communications director!

I'd support Hoynes for the Democratic Party nomination, if he's ever going to be eligible ever again

I'd like to see CJ as President or at least on the list. Note a list full of men. How surprising.

Probably only because all 43 previous US presidents have been men. And the nature of US presidential politics/campaigning etc would make it much harder to elect a female president than (say) a female UK Prime Minister. But of course CJ would be a much more capable President than the current (real) incumbent... ..as would Donna ...and Ainsley ...and Joey Lucas ...and yes, even Mandy!!! (feel free to continue in the same vein) "If you teach a child to read, he or her will be able to pass a literacy test." (that's the aforementioned incumbent, in case you hadn't guessed...)

to be fair, barney the big purple kiddy-brainwashing dinosaur would make a more capable president than this jackass.
