It's a bugger. However, I will admit, I did think Kerry was a bit of a wet rag. But there is a bright side which I've had little chats with people about, and that is 2008 being an open field.
Let's face it, Dick Cheney stands very little chance of being on the ticket. His dodgy health and cold personality has sorted that one out for us. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not the VP come the 2008 election primaries. John McCain and Rudy Gulliani, two Republicans I actually do like. I got a bit hyper back in 2000 when McCain made a strong initial impact back in the 2000 primaries.
As for Democrats, another John Kerry campaign I can't see happening. For a start, Al Gore is still a young-ish man, and still popular. And, we all know this one, there is the Clinton, Mrs H R, factor. Fantasy perhaps, but not completely out of the realm of reality.

Bookies are giving the best odds on Clinton Vs Guilliani on 2008. The main obstacles to that are a) would Hillary run? and b) Gulliani's prostate cancer. (Lets face it, Gulliani would be the Republicans dream candidate as it would allow them to electioneer, yet again, using 9/11 as their main issue.) I've heard things about Clinton, I'd say it looks realistic
