Guys,
I'm off to Washington for Xmas this year and was wondering if anyone had been before and had any decent sightseeing trips?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Washington is a great place - very different from other american cities - very green.
Highlights include the capitol buildings and the smithdolen. You can't go in the white house it's self which is a little disappointing.

I went during the summer, had a fantastic time. It's definitely my favourite city so far. The Air and Space museum, the American History Museum and the Natural History museum are fantastic. We took a tour of the Capitol building which was quite good and the Supreme court is very interesting (I thought so anyway, but i'm studying law - the people i was with didn't think it was that good).
The best by far was the walking tour of all of the monuments at night. Quite amazing, although it may be pretty cold at Christmas.
Have fun.
