How is it that I like oranges, orange juice, adore jaffa cakes. So how come orange marmalade makes me want to go outside and eat dry grass just to get rid of the vile taste and, even worse, the slimey texture?

Orange marmalade is evil. I'm the same with apple pie the slimy apple mixture makes me feel sick but i like apples. I think it's a texture thing.

One of my sisters is the same as you mervale, she'll eat strawberries but nothing strawberry flavoured, while my other sister will eat strawberry flavoured foods, but not strawberries.
