President Bush fired his silver bullet last night in the direction of John Kerry.
He failed to dodge the ricochet and shot himself in the arm. Though the
wound wasn't fatal, the injury was evident.
If the Kerry campaign was to break and find itself flailing helplessly on the floor, then
a clash on foreign policy could have been the loaded gun. In a debate lasting roughly
90 minutes longer than the president would have liked, John Kerry tied his shoelaces
tight and walked determined out from the thick fog that has been choking his campaign
for several months now. Neat and articulate in performance and rising high above
low expectation, for the first time in a long time it is now explicitly clear: John Kerry
is running for president.

I made a few notes whilst watching last night's debate. Bush's stalling and 'erms' and 'errs' were so often heard no note needed to be made. But there was two things I thought either iffy or questionable. Kerry's language and style were overall excellent however he used the word 'kill' and just as you could forget that he said that, he said it again. 'Kill the terrorists', sure, I'm all for that but surely it's something you do behind closed doors. I don't think he should be so willing to say to the American people he aspires to be a killer. Maybe it's just me who thinks kill is a word that doesn't play well. 'Bring to justice' is a more welcoming phrase which implicitly could mean killing people who deserve to die, regardless. However, perhaps kill makes for a soundbyte the American people are quite fond of given the past four years.
Secondly, John Kerry seemed adamant that North Korea has nuclear weapons. He didn't seem worried that they could have them but genuinely concerned that they do have them. It's North Korea, were's the evidence, proof and assurance. We've been here before with claims of existing weapons of mass destruction. It's not the 'lies' that would bother me, but he'd open himself up for his political enemies. He could be dabbing his neck with damp cotton wool so the incision of the blood suckers is easier.
I'm rambling.
Oh yeah, Kerry won that debate, that's easy to see. Even 'fair and balanced' Fox News agrees with that.
Anybody else see last nights Bush whacking?
