I sat up and watched it. It was an election year SOTU.
Interesting to note, however, that after telling the UN where to go last year, Britain and America
as if they hadn't acted then
Also interesting was the fact that the military personel in attendance almost had to be told to aplaud at the right times.

My email for the day: REPUBLICANS ABUSE CHILDRENEurgh! One of the oldest tricks in the politicians book, played out right before my very eyes. I'm sorry but, it may look cute, but the motives behind it tend to be selfish. As with the letter from the girl from Lincoln who aged eight years in the space of a one second verbal cock up, President Bush launched his re-election campaign with self-accrued support from children throughout the land. He'll be kicking himself this morning when he is told by an advisor/tutor that they cannot vote.

Bush's re-election speech/SotU.
Many interesting moments in the SotU this year. The UN comment as said by Spike. The coalition "Enforced the demands of the United Nations". Was that the united nations of the coalition or the UN? I'd go with the former on that one.....
Also
The unexpected applause after Bush made clear his concerns about expiring provisions of the Patriot Act, which I believe was a piece of rushed in legislation after 9/11. Bush's speech interrupted by a protest.
The firm stance on the sanctity of marriage, which despite not being religious, I agree with. Marriage is between a man and a woman.
Something Charles Kennedy said today during Prime Minister's Questions. He said the Iraq threat began as weapons of mass destruction, then became weapons of mass destruction programmes, and now it's weapons of mass destruction related activities. Brilliant way of summing up the whole fiasco.
