Because I can't spell his last name... Well, within about 2 hours they're going to announce Arnold as the new governor of California. I'm really truly appalled by this. He has no qualifications, no new ideas and he assaulted women. Americans...pssssht. How does everyone else feel about this? How are they reporting it over in Britain? I'm stuck watching CNN aka the Propaganda Network here. Edited because apparently I can't spell his first name either...

It's all over the news over here in the UK this morning - showing the acceptance speech and Davis speech live (If Arnie hadn't been running this would never have happened!). I think it is terrible that he has won - and that lots of women voted for him, after all the allegations of his appaling treatment of women over the years, I expected more from the sisterhood! I personally feel that Maria is the brains behind it all - and that a Bill and Hillary situation may happen. God help the world if he ever gets ideas to run for President

Nice surreal debate on R5 yesterday during which the point was made that Arnie announced his candidacy on the Jay Leno show in order to appeal to the kind of people who don't watch the more serious political shows (ie the US equivalent of Newsnight et al). I was reminded of this by Josh in last night's episode, with his "68% think it's too much, 59% think it should be cut" stat. Clearly the sort of people who Arnie is appealing to...

Mind you, look at the bright side. At least he won't be making films for a while.

Schwarzenegger's 100 day plan to turn the economy round..... I take it he's just trying to humour every Democrat in the country.

Out of interest did anyone see Rob anywhere in the coverage? I only saw a bit of it on breakfast news and couldnt find him. What Were They Thinking? I was discussing this with my philosophy/ethics teacher a couple of weeks ago and pointed out he couldnt be president, but if he managed to win this, then in her words- anything can happen

He can't. He's not American. Apparatley a Bill is going through in America at the moment that would make this possible the Equal Oppotunity to Govern Act..... Also Rob was there - I caught E! News Live at the weekend and there was an interview at the hotel with him.
