“ The thing about job titles in the White House is that they really don’t mean much. In the current White House there are three women and it would be difficult to say where one person’s job left off and the other began. They are all basically communication’s directors. Josh is the deputy chief of staff, Toby is communication’s director, Sam is deputy communication’s director and CJ is press secretary. Their jobs are going to overlap. Mostly, they are senior counselors to the President. These are the people the President likes to talk to. Ed and Larry are the people these people like to talk to. The reason why you want Eds and Larrys out there is because you don’t want it to seem like the only people working at the White House are the stars of our show. You want to constantly remind the audience it’s a much bigger world and our camera is just focused on this now.”
