Has this girl got class or what?! Allison is definatly my favourite member of the cast, and I think that CJ is tremendously well played. Allison can do a range of people as well! She isn't stereotyped like alot of actors are nowadays. I loved her in American Beauty, The Hours and Drop Dead Gorgeous, and thats just two of her films. Look out for her in one of the leading roles in "How To Deal" and also as the voice of Peach, in "Finding Nemo"
Favourite CJ Moments:
Shibboleth, with the turkeys. Sheer brilliance!
What are other people's favourite CJ moments?

The thing with Pluie cracks me up. And there are the other little moments. Like at the start on Indians in the Lobby where she's talking to POTUS - well, less talking, more like being polite in a sarcastic kind of way. When she has "woot canal" it builds up the rest of the comedy in that particular episode, so well done CJ Actually, she's excellent in pretty much every episode. There's an episode in Season 4 which is pretty much all about CJ, where she goes back home to Dayton, Ohio for a school reunion. Ignoring the part where she gets in bed with a random person, her interaction with her Alzheimer's (sp) suffering father is very poignant

Hi pinksquirrel. Your avatar doesn't show because you're picture is hosted on geocities. That's why mine doesn't work so I gave up until I can be bothered to find an image host that works with these boards. That's what I was told. I'm not a net nerd

"The Long Goodbye" is it not? Beckey x x x x That's the one. Have you seen it? if you have what do you think of it? I know it's CJ, and she's a class act, but it felt like something other than WW when I watched it, almost like something you'd find on the Hallmark channel (in that it's about people's lives and suffering). It was almost as if you were watching one of her films rather than the show. Still, it's good to see AS can do other drama too.

Thanks for the info about the Avatar POTUS.
I think I read somewhere that The Long Goodbye was a product of the 2-parter at the start of the season, something along the lines of AS is contracted to write so many episodes, but because of the 2-parter, he had used all his contracted script-writing up, and NBC who hire him to fill a certain amount of air-time, had an extra hour, so AS had this guy write a story, which was off the normal timeline and therefore could be pretty much about anything. I am glad they chose CJ however, because she never really seems to get any major storylines..(ok, Simon, but you know what I mean). I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'm a rep of it over at The Beltway!

Oh, right. I see. They had a gap to fill in season 3 so they made a documentary special - one of those extras that we never get to see. Nice to know they've spent a bit more time and money when filling in the gaps this time around

My fav CJ moments are, in no particular order:
When she falls off the treadmill in th Pilot
Her 'woot canaw' in Celestial Navigation
The Turkeys in Shibboleth
Pluie in The Crackpots and These Women
The Jackal in Six Meetings Before Lunch
I'm sure there are more but i'm tired and can't think properly

I'm sure there are more but i'm tired and can't think properly I know the feeling! Allow me to add to your list: Falling into the pool in In the shadow of two gunmen part II When she gets fired from her PR job in the same episode The start of the Midterms, when there is the really long scene, all shot in one take, when she finishes speaking to Josh on the phone, walks to her briefing and is talked to separately by Toby, Leo and Sam on the way, gets to the briefing and then says "psychics" instead of "physicists" deliberately to piss off Josh. Once again, i'm sure there are many more! d

I remembered those moments after I'd submitted my reply and logged off. They also are brilliant, the bit when she falls in the pool shows that there is some history between her and CJ coz otherwise he wouldn't have just stood there!! Nicola

The bit where she mispeaks during a briefing in the episode 'Manchester'. Also near the beginning of S3, when the reporter from Dallas, Sherie or whatever she is called, is made to look like a prat because she broadcast that CJ was more concerned with her clothing than details of a news story.
CJ and POTUS at the start of Indians in the Lobby, and in The Women of Qumar throughout that episode CJ is fab. You can tell just how cut up she is about women's rights when they don't have any.

No doubt at all that Allison Janney deserved her 3 Emmys (Emmies???) in 3 seasons. However, can anyone explain why she received the first 2 for 'Best Supporting Actress' and the most recent one for 'Best Actress'? I didn't really see her become more prominent in season 3. Or are the rules a bit more complicated than that?
A marvellous little CJ moment no-one's mentioned is when she gets the goldfish from Danny in season 1: how she combines being genuinely touched by the gesture but amused at Danny's honest mistake...

Does anyone know what history there is between CJ and Toby?
There has to be something otherwise when she fell in the pool he would not have just said 'You fell into the pool there CJ' or words to that effect, i'm quoting from memory here.

I think it's one of those nice little things that we'll never really know about. Definatly there is some history, but I personally like to think that its something simple, like they were good friends way back, or friendly rivals or something (tho obviously not at Pool!)
